Very much a believer in sport for all, all juniors who step on to the mat on Thursdays - whether a beginner or experienced player - will find it an encouraging and friendly environment in which to learn/ develop a great sport! The aim of any session is to teach quality technique and enable all to reach their full potential.
Ashley started judo at the age of 11 and after a short break has returned to the club to coach and compete at international level. Winning a Commonwealth Masters Judo Championship Gold medal in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, in April 2016 was the highpoint of his competitive carrier to date. His impressive haul of 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 1 Bronze medal in 2016 speaks volumes about his love for the sport.
But whilst Ashley competes at a high level he encourages all players to maximize their potential, to learn and to enjoy each class.
